This post about the Wydler Windham is in collaboration with the hotel and the Babes That Wander. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
The Babes That Wander are wandering again! This time we’re headed to the Catskills to check out the Wylder Windham, I’m sharing a full recap of our trip and what to do on the property below!
Wydler Windham Weekend Girl’s Trip
How to Get There
Iesha lives in Philadelphia so Megan and I flew into Philly on a Wednesday. From there we drove four hours into the Catskills in New York state. Lexus was lovely enough to let us test drive the 2023 Lexus NX 350h Luxury AWD and it was the perfect road trip car! The trunk had plenty of space for our suitcases, and the seats in the front and back had heated seats and USB ports to charge electronics. And don’t even get me started on the sunroof, fun color, and awesome features. It was like driving a cool, hybrid racecar.
We crossed the Batavia Kill Bridge around 7 p.m. and pulled into the property. It would be the beginning of a fun girls’ weekend!
About the Hotel
The Wylder Winham has been in the business of welcoming guests since 1880. The property was family owned and operated for over 140 years until Windham took over the resort in 2021. The property is large with several rooms and large houses available to reserve. This place is a gem in the Great Northern Catskills Mountains and there’s something for everyone. What to Do On Property
Play Pickleball
Have you ever heard of Pickleball? Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton & ping-pong. We got some paddles and balls from the front desk and set out one morning to conquer the sport. I don’t think any of the babes are going to be pros but it was fun to get out and move around.
Enjoy the Sauna
On the property, you’ll also find a few small outdoor wood-fired saunas. These fit three people comfortably and are a great way to sit back and let the steam do its work. Saunas are great for less muscle and joint pain, skin health and antiaging benefits, and improved sleep.
Lounge by the Pool
One thing I’ve loved at hotels lately is the heated pool. After a day of travel, having a nice swim feels amazing! The Wylder Windham has a large pool area with room to relax or get in and swim. On Friday we were there we had the space to ourselves and it was the perfect spot for shooting content. We got a few drinks, ordered lunch, and spent a nice leisurely afternoon by the pool. They also have a DJ there on Fridays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. ready to turn this spot into the life of the party!

Nap in a Hammock
By the pickleball courts, there are several hammocks that are close to the river. You can relax and sway while listening to the gentle babble of the creek, the birds singing, and feeling the sun on your face. I did this several times throughout our stay and it was so peaceful.
Gather Around the Fire
The Wylder Windham has great outdoor spaces. Our favorite spot to end the night was around the firepits making s’mores and enjoying an Old Fashioned or Espresso Martini. There’s nothing like campfire talk among girlfriends!
Get Your Game On In the Recreation Room
In the lobby, you’ll find a stairwell, when you go down you’ll find yourself in the recreation area. Play arcade classics like Mrs. PacMan or play pool and shuffle ball. They also host movie nights down there with yummy snacks.
Take a Cocktail Making Class
On Thursday afternoons, guests have the option of taking a cocktail-making class. We took it with head bartender Sheena and she taught us how to make the perfect margarita. Iesha and Megan opted for something spicy and fruity, while I stuck with a classic. Everyone who works at the Wylder Windham is so friendly and their service is above and beyond.
Where to Eat
There’s one place to eat on property and that’s all you need! Babblers is an on-site restaurant that has delicious food and drinks. The locals come all the time to enjoy their tasty offerings! In the morning and for lunch you go to the bakery side for coffee, tea, and baked goods. We loved the ham and cheese croissants, breakfast sandwiches, and chocolate chip cookies.
For dinner, we would stay for a while and enjoy the meal, talk to staff and locals, and enjoy the warm, friendly vibe of the restaurant. We enjoyed the mac and cheese (with extra cheese), steak frites, a legit cheeseburger, and twice-cut french fries. You can’t order wrong at Babblers!

Where We Stayed
The babes stayed in the Farmhouse during our visit. The Farmhouse had four bedrooms, two and a half baths, a full kitchen as well as a dining room, a living room with a fireplace, and a washer/dryer available to use. The Farmhouse is the perfect place for a group getaway (including your furry friends). It can sleep up to 8 guests with all the amenities to make you feel right at home.

If you don’t need that much space, Wylder has more room options found here.
Come for a girl’s trip, a boys’ getaway, or a romantic retreat. The Wylder has something for everyone! When you do book tell them the babes sent you!
