Why I Don’t Wear Pajamas When I Work From Home

One thing people comment when I say I’m a full-time blogger is, “Oh I bet it’s nice getting to stay in your PJ’s/yoga pants all day!”

That does sound nice, doesn’t it?! Who doesn’t want to be comfy? I love my yoga pants as much as the next girl. But I don’t live in them or wear them when I’m working at home. Here’s why.

Why I Don’t Wear Pajamas When I Work From Home

I was homeschooled for middle and high school. Even though I was home all day, my mom still made my brother and me get dressed like we were going somewhere. It set the vibe for the day and for my mom, showed her that we were getting down to business.

I’m not saying I walk around the house in my heels with my fake lashes on. It does mean that I get up, put on a dress or jeans/sweater, brush my teeth, wash my face, apply some light makeup and fix my hair. My day can turn on a dime. I can think my day is open when a last-minute meeting or event comes up. I also get campaigns that are due the day after I get the offer! In these instances, it’s nice that I’m already presentable and ready to go shoot or head to a meeting.

If I sit in my PJ’s all day, I feel like I wouldn’t have the get-up-and-go attitude. If I’m dressed I get the same “get down to the business vibe I had in high school. The look I’m featuring today has been one of my favorite looks for a meeting. It’s casual, fashion-forward, and comfortable.
