When I posted Wednesday’s post about my 3 favorite Free People dresses for tall girls, I got a few questions about this black dress. More specifically want to wear it under a backless dress. I have a few tips and tricks and wanted to share them with you today!
What to Wear Under a Backless Dress
Adhesive Silicone Bra
This is one option to wear with a backless dress. It’s just two sticky silicone pieces that act as a bra. You wear them a couple of times, wash and air dry after use, and buy new ones when they don’t stick well anymore. Honestly, these aren’t my favorites but work in a pinch!
Body Tape
Body tape is the perfect solution for any garment. They hold everything in place and lift which is helpful! The only downside is sometimes they kill when you take them off. But I give them an 8 out of 10. Honestly, I’ve used duct tape before too, but that hurts even worse.
Backless Strapless Underwire Bra
This is a great option if you’re on the busty side and need a little support or feel naked if you’re not wearing an underwire. These work great with plunging v’s and backless options, just be careful because sometimes the clear side straps show in the back.
Nipple Covers
This is what I use the most. I’m flat-chested and can go without wearing a bra 75% of the time. It’s also great if you’re a blogger and shooting multiple looks with different necklines and styles. These don’t last as long in the summer because when you sweat they stick less but they’re my favorite out of all the options on this list!

I honestly haven’t worn a bra in years, no matter what kind of top I’m wearing lol. I’m 100% here for a braless Rachel Greene circa 1995 look! But if I absolutely have to have something due to sheerness, I’m with ya on the nipple covers!
