A was given a complimentary two-night stay at the W Hotel Nashville TN. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.
Last week, my husband and I celebrated our 10-year anniversary with a little staycation date at the W Hotel. Hotels are not sparse in Music City, but this 12th Ave hotel is in the perfect location! It’s located in the heart of The Gulch, a trendy neighborhood near Broadway and all the downtown action. If you travel from the airport it’s only a 20-minute drive.
We drove to the W (located at 300 12th Ave. Nashville, TN, United States), valeted the car, and checked in at this beautiful property. We were in room 702 which was a corner suite with a living room and bedroom. In my opinion, it’s nice having two rooms with two TV’s so you can watch reality TV in one room while your partner watches sports or a documentary in the other room. But there is so much to do at the W, you won’t need the TV on!

A Staycation at the W Hotel, Nashville, TN
What to Do
The first place we went after settling in was the pool. Guests can sit in chairs, reserve a cabana, or chill by the pool bar all while taking in the views of The Gulch. On a Wednesday afternoon, we had most of the pool to ourselves so we read in a cabana, sipped a mojito, and would wade in the pool when we got too warm. The perfect way to relax and spend our anniversary.

If you’re into fitness, the W has a state-of-the-art gym with Peloton bikes and other equipment. There are also fitness classes like yoga or movement classes led by local instruction. There’s also a place to shop in the W lobby. This boutique is curated for men and women and has the cutest souvenirs and Nashville merch.
Now, if you go out the front doors and take a left and take a left at Carne Mare, walk until there’s a garage area to your left. There you’ll find the cutest mural from Kelsey Montague. You can’t visit Nashville and not get a fun mural photo.

Where to Eat
After cleaning up, go to Proof, the rooftop bar. This is one of my top bar rooftops in Nashville because the view, food, and drinks are all superb. We came here around sunset and sat on the patio sipping wine and eating truffle fries. The dress code is casual.
Another bar to check out is Living Room, the lobby bar. There’s live music most nights and the space is so cozy. A lot of little nooks to sit and either work, read, or catch up with a friend.
If you’re looking for full dinner spots, the reviews don’t lie. Carne Mare, the Italian chophouse, and The Dutch are two of the best restaurants in Nashville. I wouldn’t just show up to either restaurant and recommend making a reservation. For our big anniversary dinner, we chose the Dutch.

We dined on the Canal Street Pork Ribs, Lil Oyster Sandwiches, and Blistered Shishitos. For the main course I had AC’s Famous Fried Chicken with French Fries and Tim had the Double Dutch Burger. For dessert, we shared the Dark Chocolate Pudding Souffle. This is one of the best dinners I’ve ever had and we left feeling so stuffed! A special touch from the team there was a sparkling rosé when we first arrived and took a cute polaroid photo to celebrate.

Yes, you leave a credit card on file when you check in and it’s the card they use if you order room service, order at their bars, or charge anything from the restaurant to your room.
Only 0.6 miles! It’s a 10-minute walk or 5-minute car ride to get to Broadway.
The W Hotel allows one pet per room at no more than 40lbs. However, dogs exceeding the weight limit and pets other than dogs may be accepted into the hotel at the Hotel Management’s discretion.
After a day at the pool and eating so much good food, we pulled down the black-out curtains and enjoyed the comfy King-sized bed. It’s a treat getting to sleep without the dogs and we were out like a light!
If you’re checking out or heading out to explore Nashville, stop in the lobby for breakfast and a bagel at Barista Parlor. If the weather isn’t too hot, enjoy it out in the BP Secret Garden. We had the best anniversary staycation and can’t wait to check into the W Hotel again soon.
