One of my favorite parts of starting the summer season is switching out my handbags. In the fall and winter, I typically gravitate towards darker colors and crossbody bags where the strap fits over a big coat or sweater. When the warmer weather arrives, I want something bright and colorful! It’s also fun getting back with different textures and patterns. In the spirit of summer, I’m sharing a few of my favorite style bags with you below.
Top 7 Favorite Summer Handbags
As I said above, summer is a fun time to get some bags with different textures. Straw and raffia are two great textures for fall because most of the time they’re in a beige or brow and that’s the ultimate neutral. Raffia adds a resort or beach vibe to any outfit which is perfect for a summer outfit.
My backpack has gotten a lot of use in the past couple of weeks. With travel picking back up and the world slowly going back to normal, I’ve been on the go and using my cute pastel backpack a ton. Get a lightweight backpack for day trips and busy schedules!
Another thing I’ve been using a lot is my tote bag. It’s handy when you’re heading to a pool or beach and need easy access to something. Make sure the straps are nice and thick so it’s doesn’t break if it’s weighed down and get a fabric one so you can throw it in the washing machine if it gets dirty.
If you like being hands-free like me, you’ll love a crossbody bag. Crossbodies are great for hockey games, music festivals, pretty much any occasion where you need a small bag that’s as low maintenance as possible. My summer crossbodies are in fun bright colors like yellow and green. It adds a fun pop of color to any outfit!
The bucket bag is such a nineties retro throwback! I’ve found some great bucket bags that are straw so it’s combining two of my favorite things into one.
I was mentioning above that crossbody’s are low maintenance and fuss-free but so are belt bags! Belt bags are trendier but they simply hang on your way or through your belt buckles. It’s like having an oversized pocket that’s cute and fits all your stuff!
A clutch is a perfect bag for a night out with the girls or a date. A clutch really pulls an outfit together and can tie in all the colors you’re wearing, or if you’re wearing a neutral-colored outfit, provide a fun pop of pattern! Plus it’s small enough to fit on a table and not take up too much room.
