I’ve had a bit of a cooking bug lately. My husband and I are so busy with traveling, work, and school that it feels like dinner is the only time we see each other.
I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen, some successful, some not so much. One of my more successful recipes lately has been the honey garlic pork chop sandwich. I was visiting my in-laws at the beach last weekend and decided to make this for dinner one night.
Today I thought I’d share how to make it and all the ingredients you need. Check it out below!
Honey Garlic Pork Chop Recipe
INGREDIENTS
PORK CHOPS
- Smithfield All Natural Boneless Pork Chops
I headed to my local Walmart and got the Smithfield All Natural Boneless Pork Chops. They were located on the outside aisle of the store in the pork/meat section.
The thing I like best about Smithfield All Natural Fresh Pork is that it’s naturally tender. It’s also without added steroids, hormones, or artificial ingredients. Who wants all that in their meat?! Not me.
Smithfield All Natural Fresh Pork is a Guaranteed Tender and is great to grill this summer. What does it mean to be a Guaranteed Tender? USDA Processed Verified, hand-selected based on coloring and marbling, proudly raised in the USA, and fresh never frozen. Love it when meat is guaranteed tender!
- Salt and pepper to season
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, (minced)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- Pack of hamburger buns
SAUCE
- Honey
- Garlic
- Unsalted Butter
- Apple Cider Vinegar
DIRECTIONS
I made this on a pan on the stove and then on the grill. Before doing anything you need to preheat the stove to medium-high heat. We put some oil in the pan and while it was warming up we seasoned the boneless pork chops with garlic, salt, and pepper.
Once the pan was hot, we seared the Smithfield All Natural Boneless Pork Chops on each side for 5 minutes. In the same pan, keep the heat at medium to melt the butter. Sauté the garlic and add the apple cider vinegar, water, and honey.
Stir the sauce until it thickens and add the pork back into the pan. Then I took a spoon and spooned the sauce onto the pork chops. Then we took them off placed them on a separate plate and drizzled the sauce on top.
We took the pork chops out to the grill and let them sit on the grill at 450 degrees. They’d sit for 1-2 minutes and then flip until the edges were charred.
Once they’re done, place on a bun and serve! You now have the yummiest honey garlic pork chop sandwich.
I served the honey garlic pork chop sandwiches with green beans, small red potatoes, corn, and sweet tea. It was perfect sitting on the screened-in porch with family while enjoying a meal and the gorgeous weather! See the finished result.
YUMMY!! Must try this – thanks for sharing!
