Next week I’m heading to a formal event in Nashville called The Iris Ball. I was online looking for a dress for the event and found this gorgeous blue ruffle dress on Shopbop. As a brunette with an olive skin tone, I normally stay away from white, pink and red when it comes to wardrobe choices. I have so much red in my skin, I just feel like these colors look horrid on me. On the other hand, jewel tones look good on my skin. So emerald green, purple, and cobalt blue like the dress below pop on me.
While it’s not my #1 choice for a black-tie event, I did snag this dress on sale for any dressier events I have coming up this spring/summer. While this is the blue dress you need for your next formal event I can also see it being dressed down with sandals and a headscarf.
It’s on sale but is still over $100. An investment piece if you have some extra cash to drop!
