I just got back from a few fun-filled days in Québec with my mom. While we were excited to explore Québec City, we were also excited to explore some wineries in the area. I didn’t know Canada or the Québec region was known for any particular types of wines but did know they had local products like cider and apples.
Some of the best wineries in Québec were a short half-hour drive from our hotel so we got in our rental and headed to the wine route. A lot of the wineries were on the same road in the Île d’Orléans so it made hopping from place to place easier.
The Île d’Orléans is a little island in Québec that is made up of six municipalities, each with its unique characteristics. It’s along the St. Lawrence River and one of the first parts of the province to be colonized by the French. It’s full of things to do, great restaurants, bed and breakfast, and of course wineries and cideries.
We drove around but also saw a few tour buses that go around and drive you while you do guided tours of surrounding vineyards. We didn’t do any guided tours we did visit a few vineyards.
See the names and places we discovered below!

Other Wineries in Québec
We learned all about ice cider and wines and how they’re made when it’s cold. We also tried a lot of organic wines and ciders. I’ll save the cideries for another day but wine tasting is one of the great cold weather winter activities if you’re in Québec and don’t like being out in the cold.
We sampled a few sweet wines but mainly the vibe was dry whites and reds.
