Summer is in full swing, ladies and gents! There are a few drinks that just scream summer and are perfect when enjoyed outside, with ice, in a glass. For me, one of these drinks is my summer punch. The recipe is simple with only five ingredients but is perfect to make a pitcher and enjoy with friends.
Summer Punch Recipe
- Malibu®* – 8 oz
- Jameson®** -16 oz
- 2 lemons thinly sliced
- 1 ½ pineapple that’s peeled, cored and cut into half-inch rings
- ¾ cup of sugar
- 5 cups of water
Put the Malibu®, Jameson®, lemons, and pineapple in the punch bowl or pitcher and let it sit. Either let it sit in the fridge overnight or for at least three hours. After letting the punch sit, boil the sugar in the five cups of water and add to the pitcher. Stir thoroughly and serve.
If you want the punch a little sweeter, add some Malibu® Rum. Malibu® is an original coconut rum from the Caribbean, where the spirit of summer shines all year round. To me, nothing says summer like some Malibu®, so it’s the natural choice for a summer punch.
If you like your punch stronger, add more Jameson®. Jameson® is a blend of pot still and grain whiskey. Triple distilled, remarkably smooth, and unmistakably Jameson® from Ireland. Whether it’s drunk neat, on the rocks, in a cocktail, or with a beer, Jameson® is always something that can bring friends together. I’m not a huge whiskey person, but I do like it in a punch!
