As most of you know, my husband Tim is currently in graduate school for mental health counseling. This past year has been us adjusting back to evening classes, term papers, internships and all the joys that grad school brings. I promised Tim that when he started I would turn our third room, aka junk room, into an office for him to study in. Our current set-up is I hang out in the living room and work while he goes into the bedroom to study.
His textbooks, pens, and highlighters are everywhere and I finally decided that enough was enough and this weekend I got to work.
One of my favorite places for furniture shopping would have to be Old Time Pottery. Nashville has two locations; Madison and Murfreesboro. I remember when I was in college and moved into my first apartment, my mom took me to Old Time Pottery and I got everything I needed for my kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom.
I had already gotten a desk and end table for Tim’s office but I wanted to get him some comfy chairs or a sofa, a rug and some accents to go on the end table and office. So one Saturday morning, we headed to Madison and got shopping! There Tim found this pretty blue rug, two leather chairs, frames for all our diplomas, a mirror and fun accents.
If you’ve ever been to an Old Time Pottery, you know their locations are huge and can be a little overwhelming. I would definitely set the time aside to browse because there are some amazing finds! If you’re going back to school and need to get things for your dorm room and apartment, Old Time Pottery has everything you need and at an amazing price. While we were shopping, I was wishing I was moving into a dorm because the decor, bedspreads and home accessories were so stinking cute!
Okay enough, about how much I love Old Time Pottery. Time to show you how the office turned out!
Tim is loving this space. It’s been great for him to go in there, shut the door, and knock out his paper and reading. The girls (Gatsby & Fitzy) also love how cozy the carpet is!
If you love these pieces as much as I do, visit your local Old Time Pottery. And if you’re in the Nashville area, invite me to go with you!
