Even though Nashville doesn’t have harsh winters, we do get cold, wind and some ice. The few months we do have of spring are grey, dark and unpleasant for all of us, including Gatsby. Getting Gatsby out from under the covers is a hard task during winter! My little Doxador loves long walks, warm temps and sunshine. You can imagine how happy she is that it’s March and temps are on the rise! So today I thought I’d share with you our spring morning routine!
OUR SPRING MORNING ROUTINE:
Every morning starts the same. I wake up with Gatsby’s front paws on my chest and she “talks” to me. Her little grunts and groans let me know she’s ready to eat breakfast and relieve herself. While in the backyard we throw the tennis ball around as I drink my coffee and try to wake up.
Once we get inside it’s time for breakfast. Gatsby has wet food in the morning and loves Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Peak™ Open Range Recipe™ with Chicken & Beef in Hearty Gravy. It’s filling, nutritious and a great way to start the day! The Nutrish® Peak™ Wetlands Recipe™ with Chicken & Duck in Rustic Gravy is made with real chicken, combined with protein-rich duck to help your pup thrive. I’m picky with what I feed Gatsby and love that her wet food doesn’t have any corn, wheat or soy.
After breakfast I settle into the couch to answer a few emails. Gatsby will either lay next to me or curl up in a chair that sits in the sunshine. She naps and barks at delivery trucks.
I eat a quick lunch and we hit the local greenway. Now that it’s warmer we’re both itching to be outside more! Our local greenway has a couple of different paths but we’ll usually walk the mile and a half. Gatsby is at her happiest on her lunch walk!
After walking, we head back home where I work for the rest of the afternoon. Gatsby will burrow under a throw blanket and stay there and sleep. Around five-ish we head outside again for another game of catch. Once we’ve wore Gatsby out it’s time for her dinner! Gats gets dry dog food for dinner and eats Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Peak™ Wetlands Recipe™ with Chicken, Duck & Pheasant. The dry dog food has real and wholesome ingredients. Safely USA cooked with the world’s best ingredients. Gatsby eats up her food in two seconds flat, it doesn’t sit there long!
From there we’ll take a short walk around the neighborhood to get out some final energy before we settle in for the night. After 8 p.m. you can either find Gatsby curled up next to me on the couch or in her bed.
I don’t have kids so Gatsby is my “baby”. She’s a member of the family and our pets count on us for everything. And it’s our duty to give them the best and never let them down. Nutrish PEAK knows just how you feel, because they’re pet parents too. That’s why everything they do is aimed at nourishing pets everywhere – including offering pet food and treats made with simple, wholesome ingredients like real meat or fish, and no poultry by-product meal or fillers.
But be careful if you want to transition your dog’s food. Gradually introduce the food by incorporating it into your current dog food over the course of 7-10 days. Slowly replace your dog’s current food with Nutrish PEAK until it’s completely switched over.
