One trend I’ve been loving this fall that’s a blast from my punk rock past is checkerboard! In high school in the time of the Warped Tour, studded belts, skinny jeans, and stick-straight hair was my upbringing. Usually, my go-to shoes were my checkerboard hot pink and black Vans and I loved if I could find a t-shirt that matched.
Now sometime later, checkerboard is back in style and in a bunch of cool colors and styles! I’m rounding up 10 of my favorite checkerboard pieces for fall and sharing them with you below.
My Favorite Checkerboard Pieces for Fall
I love anything from Anthropologie and these beige pants are no exception! They’re currently on sale at an amazing price. These would be great with your sweatshirts, cardigan, and all other cozy fall apparel.
Need some checkerboard jeans to go with your graphic band tees and bodysuits? Forever 21 has this style that are high-rise an have plenty of stretch.
Ahhhh a return to my roots. My 16 year old self was proud when my crisp, black and white Vans came in the mail. They’re perfect to throw on with yoga pants, skirts, jeans, anything really! Plus they’re so comfortable.
Cropped sweaters are a big trend for fall and love this checkerboard sweater from ASOS. Great with jeans or high-rise trousers!
Midi skirts have been a go-to for me lately. They look good with sneakers and a simple bodysuit or top and you’re good to go! Plus the midi length fits perfectly on these long legs of mine.
This smocked dress may have more of a summer feel but it’s nothing a leather bomber jacket or denim jacket can’t fix! Plus throw on with some tights and your favorite combat boots and you have a fall look my friend!
I mentioned a denim jacket above, but check out this lime green! Such a fun color and great over a slipdress or other fall look. This would also be good to throw over workout clothes if you’re heading to a class or going for a walk.
The one time I wore a bucket hat a friend told me I looked like Princess Mia from the Princess Diaries. That may have sworn me off bucket hats personally, but love them for you! If you’re not afraid of a little color, this pink and lime green retro hat is perfect.
What fashionista doesn’t love a glam faux fur coat for a night out with the girls or on a fancy date?! Have a little fun with your style with this checkerboard coat. ASOS has the best pieces that are stylish and trendy but won’t break the bank.
If you’re a sporty spice, more casual kind of gal, maybe a puffer jacket is more your style! This comes in a fun purple color and is sure to make a statement anywhere you go.
