This girl is headed to New York Fashion Week! This week I am headed to my first New York Fashion Week for runway shows, and brand meetings and to get the overall buzz and excitement. As a blogger, I should go at least once right?
A lot of prep goes into packing for fashion week. It is still warm in New York but they are showing fall styles. You want to look on trend at shows while still dressing appropriately for the weather. You also want to stand out and have eye-catching outfits. There are a lot of factors to consider! You also probably need to have different outfits for shows, meetings, and events. Where does a girl start?
Well, after a lot of careful planning and consideration my bags are packed and I’m ready to go. I’ve got dresses, pants, lots of accessories and, of course, high heels. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that I’m packing a lot of blacks. I am also working with a few brands and am excited to wear their pieces in the Big Apple.
My comfiest pumps and wedges are also an essential part of dressing for Fashion Week. I plan on wearing the same outfit most days but switching up my shoes and accessories for different occasions. Practical and saves suitcase space! But when you are walking to meetings, standing at your favorite designer’s show, or running to catch a cab, your feet are going to be a little sore if you wear heels. But with Dr. Scholl’s your footwear can be both stylish and comfortable! You can wear the hottest new heels without the foot pain or discomfort that often accompanies them.
How to Make Your Heels More Comfortable for NYFW
I headed to my local Target and found Dr. Scholl’s products in the footcare aisle near the pharmacy. Dr. Scholl has lots of products from insoles and cushions for flats as well as arches and heel liners. These two things can turn your stilettos into comfortable heels.
I picked up a pair of Dr. Scholl’s Stylish Step™ High Heel Relief Insoles and a pair of Dr. Scholl’s Stylish Step™ Ball of Foot Cushions for High Heels. I wore my new shoes for Fashion Week a few weeks before to break them in and to try out these two products. These two products gave me all-day comfort so I can wear the shoes I want for longer. I was also able to walk and move comfortably while still looking stylish in my heels and not like a hot, limping mess (because that’s definitely not cute).
Putting these items in your shoes is so easy. The Stylish Step™ Ball of Foot is best used when you wipe the inside of your shoe clean and remove the plastic backing. You place the cushion in the forefront of the toe box of your shoe with a straight edge below the toes with the gel waves facing down. Wear the shoes and replace the padded inserts after 6 months or the first signs of wear. You could also get away with not taking the plastic back off and transferring them from shoe to shoe. The gel inserts make wearing heels a breeze on the busy New York streets.
For the Stylish Step™ (rights reserved) High Heel Relief, you again wipe the inside of the shoe clean and remove the plastic backing. Line up the heel with the back of your shoe and raise the arch with the inner edge of the shoe. You replace after 6 months or at the first signs of use. This is great if you’re wearing a chunkier heel and need some arch support that is evenly distributed. It doesn’t matter what your shoe size is since it’s one size fits all. Plus, you skip the shoe shopping and shop your own closet with these shoe repair pieces that make them more comfortable and walkable.
A few other tips that help make my heels feel more comfortable are packing a blister stick or sticking a nude band-aid around your fourth toes if you’re wearing a strappy sandal. Having all these things on hand will save time and turn you into a women’s street style icon as a lady who can walk in heels.
Use these two products or any other Dr. Scholl’s Stylish StepTM product and you’ll be ready for whatever New York Fashion Week throws at you!
