In October, I took one of my bi-annual trips with my mom to a place neither of us had been before – Québec! We had heard such great things about Québec City so we started planning our trip.
The flights were booked and we decided on mid-October since the fall foliage was at its peak. The last step was finding a hotel. We looked and found a winner in Le Capitole Hôtel, a 4 Diamond Boutique Hotel in the heart of Old Québec.
Today, I’m giving you a full recap of our stay!
A Hotel in the Heart of Old Québec – Le Capitole Hôtel
Location, Location, Location
Not only was the hotel the perfect place to lay our heads at night but you can’t beat the location. Step outside of Le Capitole Hôtel and you’re just a few steps away from Saint-Jean and Saint-Louis streets, the Grande Allée, Petit Champlain, Hotel Frontenac, Plains of Abraham, and more. We were a 15-20-minute walk from all the attractions. If you don’t have a car, it’s the best location to see Québec City on foot or by bus.

Luxurious Rooms
When you’re on vacation you don’t want to spend the day in your hotel room. Well at Le Capitole Hôtel you could spend the day in your room! We had the Citadine Suite which contained one king bed, one sofa bed, two full bathrooms, a large soaking tub in the bedroom, a living room area, an outdoor porch, and a phenomenal view. We spent our mornings enjoying coffee on the balcony and I had a long soak in the bathtub. Not to mention the beds were so comfortable and we got the best night’s sleep.

Enjoy Some Bubbly
On the property, the 6th floor to be exact, Le Capitole Hôtel has the Clubby Bar. You can enjoy cocktails and champagne and it’s the best spot for a romantic date night, girl’s night or to give yourself a break from sightseeing.

Take a Swim at Le Capitole Hôtel
Did someone say indoor pool? On the top floor, enjoy the indoor pool and spectacular view. The pool isn’t big enough to swim laps but it’s nice to go and watch the sunset and get off your feet after a day of sightseeing.
Start the Day with Breakfast
Le Capitole Hôtel does offer room service from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and on the weekends from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. You can also go downstairs and have breakfast at Ristorante Il Teatro. We had breakfast here most mornings and always walked away stuffed and ready to explore Québec City. I ordered ‘The Pastry’ because I had fruit and yogurt and a muffin and would take the croissant to go to enjoy later. The perfect breakfast for this traveler! Ristorante Il Teatro also offers Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner

Pamper Yourself
If relaxation is your goal, take advantage of Le Capitole Hôtel personalized massage therapy service. Book this 72 hours before your stay if a massage is something you’d like to experience on vacation.
You can also take care of yourself by visiting the state-of-the-art gym. While I didn’t hit the gym on this visit, I did stop by to check it out and saw free weights, various strengthening machines, and other pieces of equipment that will help you get a good workout.
