Who else can’t believe that not only is Thanksgiving this week but November is coming to an end? If you’re like me, you’ve already decorated for Christmas and pulled out your holiday sweaters. However, if you wait until after Thanksgiving, then you’re in for some fun this weekend while you put up your Christmas tree and stockings.
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the outfits and what to wear. I love the glitz and the glam and that it’s perfectly acceptable to be over the top and wear sequins for any occasion. I especially like dressing up my everyday pieces like my overalls. A common mistake with overall lovers is that they think it’s a casual piece that is only for casual occasions. While that’s true on some level, overalls can also be dressed up and enjoyed during the holiday season. Today I thought I’d share with you three tips I follow to dress up my favorite overalls for the holidays.
How to Dress Up Your Favorite Overalls for the Holidays
Be Extra with the Top
Sure, it’s easy to wear sweatshirts or tees under your overalls, but how about a fun top? I love this billowy blouse from Sea that has a pleated collar. It’s a bold look but if you’re having fun with this fashion moment it’ll show! Try a faux leather button-up, a sequin off-the-shoulder tunic, or a velvet tank. You can also wear your normal tee underneath and put on a fringe shawl or blazer. Just mix and match fabrics and styles and see what you come up with!
Over Accessorize
I LOVE over-accessorizing overalls. A chain belt? Sure! Giant Santa earrings? Get it, girl! Wear a bejeweled collar necklace, cover your arms with bangles, and have a ring on every finger. Accessories really elevate a casual look so don’t be afraid to add some vintage or fine jewelry to your holiday look.
It’s All in the Shoes
Heels with overalls really is a stylish look. Make sure your footwear isn’t too clunky, I’d stay away from mules or wedges. Go for a sleek over-the-knee boot, a sassy stiletto, or in my case, sequin sneakers! I’ve had these Kate Spade x Keds gold sequin sneakers for years and they’re so much fun to style for holiday parties if you want comfortable footwear.
Wonderful ! The idea you share in this blog is just fantastic. It really helped me alot keep it up.
