Today is my birthday! This time last year, I had no idea what the year would bring. While I didn’t have a huge party last year, I did get together with friends in a restaurant and celebrate. However, this year will be spent safely at home with my husband and two pups. If you’re a fellow Capricorn (or Aquarius) and have a January birthday, you know it’s too cold for an outdoor celebration so we have to get creative with our pandemic birthday.
I’ve rounded up a few ideas of how to celebrate your birthday during these crazy times. Below are my pandemic birthday ideas!
5 Fun Pandemic Birthday Ideas
Pick Up Takeout From Your Favorite Restaurant
We’ve all been learning how to cook new things and got reacquainted with our dishwashers and other appliances over the past several months. But on your birthday, get takeout for lunch and dinner if you want! I’m planning on getting a meatball sandwich from North Italia for lunch, and fried chicken and mashed potatoes from 51st Taproom for dinner. I’ve been looking forward to it all week!
Have a Virtual Game Night
One of my favorite parts of quarantine has been virtual game nights with friends and my in-laws. My favorite is Ticket to Ride! You can also find Codenames, Hearts, pretty much any game you think of can be found online!
Organize a Zoom Call/Party
Get a Zoom room and invite your closest friends and family! Have everyone get their favorite drink. That way everyone can feel like they’re celebrating with you but be safe in the comfort of their own homes. A win/win for everybody!
Get a Netflix Party Going
One of my favorite things to come from quarantine is weekly Netflix Parties with my girlfriends to watch Love Is Blind or Too Hot to Handle. You can all watch a TV show together and have a chat box to talk about what’s going on with the show.
Enjoy an At-Home Spa Day
It’s the day to pamper yourself! Put on your favorite music, pour a glass of wine, and throw a bath bomb in the tub. Enjoy a long soak, do your nails, put on a face mask, and RELAX. These past few months have been anything but ordinary, you deserve a day off sis.
