I was given a complimentary stay at the Moxy South Beach in exchange for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’m back from vacation! Did you miss me? In case you missed it, last week my mom and I did a week-long trip to Florida. We flew into Miami, drove to Marathon for 2 days, drove to Key West for 2 days, and then drove back to Miami for 3 days. We have never been to this part of Florida and it was so much fun exploring and seeing this.
When we were planning this trip, we were told we had to stay in South Beach and I’m so glad we did! We were close to some amazing restaurants, the beach, and some good shopping. It also helps that we stayed at an amazing new hotel, The Moxy! The Moxy opened in South Beach in February so it’s still pretty new. I’ve stayed at the Moxy in Times Square and visited the Moxy on Broadway several times and love the Moxy vibe. Their hotels always have the coolest decor and the themes coincide with the city they’re in.
If you’ve stayed at a Moxy you know the rooms are on the smaller side but are cozy and really fun and modern. We had a room with 2 queen beds and it was plenty of room for us and our suitcases. Read more about this hotel below!
Hotel Review: The Moxy South Beach
Let’s Eat!
In the mornings, you can go down and have complimentary coffee in the lobby and they also have a restaurant, Los Buenos Tacos, that has some bomb tacos and burritos. If you want other food options, head up to the Serena Rooftop. Serena is an open-air restaurant that services traditional Latin and Mexican cuisine and also has great Miami views. The pool is located next to the Serena and we spent an entire day by the pool under an umbrella. We ordered drinks and snacks poolside and read a book and relaxed. So nice!
Also, don’t forget the lobby bar. It’s so retro sixties chic, I just wanted to camp out there and enjoy a glass of wine (or two). Then in the evenings, you can go to the Upside which is the rooftop pool and bar. If you’re not a pool kind of gal and prefer the beach, the Moxy partners with a beachside hotel to let you come and enjoy their beach umbrellas and chairs, all you have to do is show them your room key!

The Perfect Location
As I said above, the Moxy was the perfect location. We were a few blocks from the beach and Ocean Drive which is full of great restaurants and people watching. If you like architecture you’re also right next to the Art Deco District and Flamingo Park. We felt pretty centralized and a Lyft or Uber was reasonable if you wanted to go to the Miami Design District or Bal Harbour Shops.
The Moxy also has some pretty cool places in the hotel. In the lobby, there’s a spot to look up where you get a view of the swimming pool. They also have a fun Miami-esque mural in a seating area between the pool and the gym. The terrace next to the lobby is also a fun and colorful place to sit, have some coffee and knock out a little work.

With COVID…
The Moxy South Beach is taking the pandemic seriously and has all guests wearing masks when they’re not in their rooms. If you’re eating or laying by the pool, you can take your mask off. They also limit the elevator to four people at a time and ask everyone to social distance if they’re standing in line. We felt safe the whole time with the Moxy’s safety measures.

So if you’re heading to Miami for business or pleasure, definitely see if you can get a room at the Moxy in South Beach! Have you ever stayed at a Moxy hotel? Share the location with me in a comment below!
Oh wow I am LOVING the decor and vibe of the Moxy! It’s so cool! and sounds like it was such a perfect central location. I’ll need to check this out once we’re able to visit the States again!
