One of the best things about getting married is gaining another family as well as forming a small family of your own. I especially love creating Holiday traditions during the Holidays! Growing up, both my parents were only children so the holidays were our own. My grandmothers would come to us and a few of our traditions included everyone opening one present each before bed. Then in the morning, we’d get hot chocolate, my big brother would pick out the festive music and we’d open gifts!
When I got married five years ago we began switching Holidays between my family and my husband. We spent Thanksgiving in Rochester this year so next year we’ll do the Holidays there. The Holiday traditions with them entail lots of good food (my mother-in-love makes the best crescent rolls), board games, puzzles, and long walks. We also go to the local tree farm and cut down our own tree and decorate it. These memories and Holiday traditions are also so special to me! I’ve loved being accepted into this new family and love their traditions.
Being married means creating memories and Holiday traditions of our own. We got our pup Gatsby around the Holidays four years ago. She’s been such a fun family addition and loves dressing up in tacky sweaters for our Holiday cards. I love going to the Opryland Hotel, looking at all the decorations and lights and eating dinner there. We also go and get a tree, shove it in my tiny car and decorate it at home. These Holiday traditions also include watching holiday movies and having popcorn and Coca-Cola® in a glass bottle.
I’m so excited to partner with Publix and Coca-Cola today on sharing all my Holiday traditions with you as well as sharing about the Publix Coca-Cola sweepstakes prize.
The Publix Coca-Cola sweepstakes are for 2 round trip tickets anywhere in the continental United States to travel home for the holidays (or bring family members to travel to you for the holidays). I love this because it’s so expensive to fly during the holidays. A lot of people can’t afford to fly to their loved ones and be together this special time of year.
If I won these sweepstakes I would fly my husband and me to Rochester or fly my in-laws to Nashville. I could also use the money to fly my big brother and sister-in-law from St. Augustine, Fl. Because the drive can be so long with a toddler. This way we can all be together for the Holidays and continue making Holiday traditions and memories together!
This holiday season, visit Publix for the text code to enter for a chance to win airfare for two to travel home for the holidays. The grand prize is Round Trip airfare for two, anywhere in the continental United States (Sweepstakes ends 12/30).
