Holiday Lights at Cheekwood

December 17, 2017

Who else can’t believe that Christmas is only a week away? We’ve been busy getting our yuletide cheer on and trying to do all the Christmasy things in Nashville while we can.

Friday, we took date night to Cheekwood to see their incredible Holiday Lights! My first tip is to get there as soon as they open at 5 p.m. You get a good parking spot and you can get a head start before the crowds arrive for their Cheekwood Christmas. We got our tickets and went straight to the warming station. There they had a concessions booth where you can buy some $3 hot cocoa or apple cider. Anything warm to hold to warm you up! We also saw mother/daughter reindeer Jolly and Joy! Five o’clock is their nap time but they were adorable snuggled together.

My second tip for this Cheekwood Christmas is to wear flats. You walk the entire Cheekwood property and I did it in stiletto boots. Not a smart thing! It’s so fun walking hand in hand with your sweetheart, listening to Christmas music, and enjoying the beautiful lights. The lights are also extremely kid-friendly with different stops along the way for kids to enjoy themselves.

About halfway through you can stop and warm up a little at the main house. Depending on the day and time, they have carolers and Santa even stops by!

When you’re finished walking through the one million holiday lights, you can go warm up at the s’ more’s pit. Located at the bottom of the mansion drive, our fire pits are the perfect spot to take a break, grab a drink, and take in the scenery. S’mores kits are available for purchase.

I would put aside about two hours to really enjoy your Cheekwood Christmas. Don’t rush through and enjoy this beautiful holiday experience with family and friends. Below is a sneak peek of what you’ll see!

Not going to lie, I was quoting Elf almost the entire time. Especially when we got to the “Candy Cane Forest” trees. You can see the Holiday Lights at Cheekwood from now until December 30 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (closed Mondays). Find tickets and more information here.

How pretty! We’re going to check out some holiday lights tonight. This is the type that you drive through, but still want to get there early as it gets pretty crowded.
