Halloween Tablescape

October 12, 2022

This post about a Halloween tablescape contains affiliate links.

I love entertaining at my house and a good theme for a dinner party. What’s more fitting this time of year with a spooky Halloween theme? I pulled out all of my Halloween decorations and put together a fun Halloween tablescape for this month’s Halloween party.

Lucky for me, my chairs are already orange and I had this tablecloth. I always start a tablescape from the tablecloth or runner and work up from there. I looked through all my plates and settled on these green dishes from a vintage shop in Columbia, TN. When you stack plates, feel free to play with textures, patterns, and colors. If you want each Halloween table setting can be different and unique. I also say not to use just black dining room decorations! You can have an elegant Halloween tablescape and home decor in oranges, greens and purples.

For my Halloween dinner party, each place setting gets a mini pumpkin centerpiece or another festive prop. You could do a leaf or small greenery for a fall/Thanksgiving theme. Usually, there’s silverware and napkins next to each place setting but I didn’t have anything that matched. Each place also gets a drinking glass of water and a wine glass. These green glasses and grey wine glasses are recent purchases from Crate & Barrel. The glitter spiders are meant to be pinned into something but I rigged them to sit in the wine glasses.

Once each place setting is done you can play with the Halloween centerpiece. I decided on orange vases with Margi Gras beads inside and some Day of the Dead pumpkins with some greenery. I didn’t want anything too tall so you can see across the table.

From there it’s going through other table decorations and playing around with what goes with your theme and color scheme. You could also coordinate your dining table to your Halloween party theme!

I had so much fun putting all this together. See how the design all turned out below!
