Game Day Cola Burgers & Fries

April 17, 2019

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of McCain Foods. The opinions and text are all mine. #MyMcCainPotatoes #CollectiveBias

My house is game day central. When there’s a big event, friends and family gather around my big screen and cheer on our team. On game day I make my famous Cola Burgers. I thought I’d share the recipe with y’all today!

Cola Burgers Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of cola-flavored carbonated beverage (divided)
  • 1/2 cup of saltine crackers crushed (I used 10 crackers)
  • 6 tablespoons of French salad dressing (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons of shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound of ground beef

DIRECTIONS

  • Fire up the grill!
  • In a bowl, combine the egg, 1/4 cup of cola-flavored carbonated beverage, crackers, 2 tablespoons of French salad dressing, and the parmesan cheese.
  • Mix well.
  • Add in hamburger meat and mix.
  • Grab handfuls of meat mixture and flatten to hamburger shape and place on a plate. This recipe makes 4-5 burgers.
  • Grill for 5 minutes and spoon 1/4 cups of cola-flavored carbonated beverage and 4 tablespoons of French salad dressing onto cooking burgers.
  • Grill till cooked through.

This recipe is easy to make and better than an average burger! You can dress your burger up with tomato, pickles, lettuce, onion, etc.

My husband, however, likes to top his cola burgers off with French Fries. Why I have no idea, but it’s just something he does! He enjoys thin fries and I prefer crinkle fries. So we always have to have at least 2-3 French Fry options for game day!

The best fries in my opinion are McCain® Fries from Walmart. McCain® Foods is a multi-national company established in Canada. It’s the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products.

You can find them in the frozen food aisle with the frozen bread, pizza, and vegetables at your local Walmart. McCain® makes several different types of fries including Smiles® Mashed Potato Shapes, Craft Beer Battered Thin Cut Fries, Seasoned Curly Fries Seasoned Potato Fries, Extra Crispy Crinkle Fries, Seasoned Waffle Fries, and Emoticon™ Shaped Cheddar Cheese Mashed Potatoes.

For our game day spread we settled on the McCain® Smiles® Mashed Potato Shapes, Craft Beer Battered Thin Cut Fries, and Extra Crispy Crinkle Fries.

McCain® products are made with real potatoes that are perfect to pair with your game day spread. McCain® products have a crispy exterior for a satisfying crunch with every bite and are great for dipping and layering.

McCain® fries are the perfect addition to any kind of game day so go stock up on all their different fries!

Gosh, I miss potatoes. I found out a few years back that I’m highly allergic to them, so now I only eat sweet potatoes or yuca. But for my husband – he sure would love these!
