We’re almost halfway through September and past Labor Day and although it’s still hot outside, fall fashion is in full swing! I didn’t go to New York fashion week this year but I’ve been keeping up with the street style looks and have picked up on 2022 trends for fall that I’m so excited about. I’ve been photographing a lot of fall looks before I start to travel more at the end of the month and I’m excited to show you some trends I love and how I style them.
Fall 2022 Fashion Trends: 5 Trends I’m Loving
Cut it Out
Who doesn’t love a look with a fun cutout! This yellow Topshop dress (wearing a size 4) and blue Petal & Pup dress (wearing a size small) both have side cutouts. This brown sweater dress (swearing a size small) has a front cutout near the rib cage that is so cute and figure-flattering. The cutouts can be around the shoulder or the sides or in the hip area.

Maxi/Midi Lengths
Don’t put that midi skirt, midi dress, or maxi dress away just yet. This fall is all about those longer pieces that you can throw a jacket over when it’s cold and leave a tank top on if it’s still hot outside. Even better if these pieces are crochet, knit, or stretchy material! Some pieces I’ve been loving; this Petal & Pup crochet maxi skirt and crop top set (wearing a S), Staud Color Block midi dress (wearing an XS), and Gold Chainmail Dress from Karen Millen (wearing a UK 6).

Faux Leather Pieces
It’s so nice that all the faux leather pieces I bought last year are still in style for this fall. Abercrombie has tons of faux leather pants and leather jackets for women to wear. Wear your wide leg faux leather pants with a cropped sweater or your leather jacket with baggy jeans and ballet flats. I also love pairing black leather pieces with a fun Bottega Veneta clutch or tiny purses.

Bold Colors
Pacific neon blue, zesty lime, and burnt orange are three colors I saw a lot of in New York Fashion Week Street Style. The brighter the better! Barbie core pink is also a really popular color but I normally don’t shop for anything pink since it’s not my vibe.

The Baggier the Better
Baggy cargo pants, loose leg jeans, and oversized jackets are so popular right now. I also have been wearing oversized sweatshirts with bike shorts nonstop. This is a trend I love because you can be comfortable in loose-fitting clothing and still be on trend! Pair your baggy pants with a fitted t-shirt or tank with Converse for a casual cool street style vibe.
