With Thanksgiving being over, we can embrace the Christmas spirit. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I don’t know about you, but baking is a huge part of my holiday season. So today I’m happy to share my recipe for my no-bake Oreo balls!
Oreo Balls Recipe + Giving Back During the Holidays
Time
- 30 minutes of Prep
- 1 hour and 10 minutes to cook
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. (8 oz.) Cream Cheese softened
- 4 pkg. (4 oz. each) semi-sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces, melted
- 40 Oreo’s, finely crushed
- Red sprinkles
Directions
- Mix cream cheese and 3 cups of cookie crumbs until blended.
- Shape into 48 (1-inch) balls.
- Freeze for 10 minutes.
- Melt chocolate (I microwaved the chocolate for 3 minutes, stirred and then every 30 seconds and stirred until melted).
- Dip balls in melted chocolate and place on wax paper or aluminum foil.
- Sprinkle with remaining cookie crumbs and red sprinkles.
- Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
This is the easiest dessert to make and it’s always a hit at any holiday event!
Another important part of the holiday season is giving back. As a blogger, I get a million packages and I don’t live in the easiest of spots for delivery. I have a long, gravel driveway on top of a hill and when it rains, the driveway washes out, making it impossible for UPS or FedEx to get up the driveway.
This doesn’t stop my UPS man Jordan from parking the truck at the bottom and walking up the hill to leave my packages on the porch. I appreciate what he does so much, so this year I decided to make some no-bake Oreo balls for him!
I headed to my local Walmart and stocked up on festive Rubbermaid TakeAlongs®Food Containers. Rubbermaid made these containers in festive holiday colors like gold, red and green. These containers are perfect to take on the go-to holiday gatherings, cookie swaps, or for gifting baked goods.
I bought the red and green, picked up some white ribbon, and headed home to get ready for the UPS delivery. The Oreo balls, fit perfectly in my TakeAlongs® holiday containers. The containers are tinted yet translucent, allowing for great visibility of the baked goods and treats!
I got the Oreo balls ready and when I got the text from my husband that he saw the UPS truck in the neighborhood, I sat on the porch and waited. I asked Jordan when he arrived if he’d be okay posing for a few photos in exchange for these cookies, and he said he’d do anything for sweets!
Jordan came back a few days later and told my husband that it made his day that someone made a sweet treat for him. He said the Oreo balls didn’t even make it home that night and he munched on them while working his route.
I encourage all of you to give back this holiday season. Whether it’s your UPS delivery driver, FedEx and USPS employees, school teacher, favorite barista, anyone you encounter that does you a service. This is a stressful time of year for everyone, and doing something nice can really make a difference in someone’s day! And if you want some TakeAlongs® holiday containers for yourself, check your local Walmart here.
