I just got back from an amazing girls weekend in Charleston with my mom.
My family visited when I was young and don’t remember it, so I was glad I was able to go and explore this beautiful, historic place again. I didn’t go to blog or work, but I thought I’d give an overview of everything we did on our trip!
First up was walking up and down King Street. We had lunch at Nick’s Barbecue and visited all the shops. We also saw this great hotel and walked around a local park.
After walking around King Street and seeing the College of Charleston campus, we drove around the Magnolia Cemetery. As strange as it sounds it was beautiful and kind of fun looking at family plots and seeing how old family members were.
The rest of our first day consisted of napping (we got in at 3 a.m. the night before) and dinner at Blossom. I got the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and turtle brownie and it was heaven!
After a good night’s sleep we went to Another Broken Egg for breakfast. I got an amazing waffle and lots of coffee. They also have a location in Nashville if you’re interested!
After a filling breakfast we walked around the Market district. We got some candy and fudge, visited the little shops (I got some great things for the house at C’est La Vie!) saw some of the old historic buildings. I love the quaintness of these buildings. They’re such pristine and proud buildings.
We decided to drive across the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge and check out Mount Pleasant.
After walking around some cute shops over there we worked up an appetite and had dinner at the original Husk. It was a bit of a wait (try to get reservations) but it was worth it! I had a perfectly cooked steak and their bread and butter is incredible!
After exploring we had dinner at Mexican restaurant Minero. Their homemade tortilla chips were the bomb! Note that their taco’s are small so if you’re hungry order two!
After dinner we walked along the river and on the famous Rainbow Row. I decided if I ever move to Charleston I want a blue house – so peppy!
After walking off dinner we headed to Carmella’s for dessert. I had the chocolate gelato milkshake but they had other goodies like pie, cupcakes and Italian ice.
