Before and After: DIY Bathroom Makeover with Sherwin Williams

April 8, 2020

This post about Sherwin Williams bathroom paint ideas is in collaboration with Sherwin Williams. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting brands that are getting us through quarantine! #swcolorlove

One of my pre-quarantine projects was to paint the bathroom in our bedroom AKA my bathroom. I always tell people that my secret to a long-lasting and happy marriage is two sinks or separate bathrooms. In this case, my husband and I have separate bathrooms to get ready in. I first painted the bathroom a few years ago beige to match the walls in our master. The only thing was I was trying to cover an ugly yellow with the beige and was running out of paint.

We were never really satisfied with the job and it’s been on our last to re-paint forever. Luckily Corona has given me a lot of time so Sherwin Williams was kind enough to give me the paint to fix my problem! This is a SMALL space. I wanted white to make space look bigger, brighter, and better if I had to film beauty tutorials or other blog stuff in there. My solution came in the color Snowbound. This was the perfect white that wasn’t too pink or too yellow-y. I primed everything first and did three good coats of paint. Then I re-painted the white trim (it’s amazing what a fresh coat can do!).

We have a navy accent wall in our bedroom and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to paint one wall navy or do a fun design. Jessica of An Indigo Day posted an easy DIY wall and I decided to try that on a wall to see if we liked it. If not, I could just do an all-over navy and call it a day. But I LOVED how it turned out! The accent wall was painted with Indigo Batik. See the before and after shots below!

How creative to do pattern mixing in your bathroom. I never would’ve thought to do something like that. But it totally suits you and your vibrant style! I love it. Yay for Sherwin Williams (definitely my favorite paint brand) and home makeovers!
