Two years ago I started taking barre classes at a studio that had just opened down the street called BarreAmped. I had never even heard of barre before but was intrigued and signed up for a few classes. But one class and I was hooked from the beginning! Who wouldn’t love the shake you experience and how strong you feel! I took classes four times a week for over a year but life began to get so busy. I would schedule a class but have to cancel and pretty soon I was hardly going, not justifying the price.
During my year off I tried taking barre at home, but didn’t have anyone to compete with so I was unmotivated. I also tried running for a few months but I have bad knees from years of dancing and it made my knee pain feel worse! So after we got back from Greece, I was determined to get my booty back to the barre.
But during my year absence, BarreAmped turned into a different place, now called Studio 51st. Studio 51st offers barre, spin, bounce and even dance classes! In my month back I’ve come to love the bounce classes and think it’s such a fun addition to the barre and cardio barre classes. They’ve even begun offering beginner yoga and Pilates classes. Let me tell you, my new favorite Sunday combo is Yoga and brunch! (Namaste)
In addition to the fitness classes, they now have the cutest little boutique inside. They have the most stylish exercise leggings, sports bras and tops I’ve ever seen!
I’m a month in and I’ve been getting stronger with every visit. Switching up my classes has made it much more fun and interesting and I’m excited to start my fitness journey again at Studio 51!
