I was given a complimentary stay at The Harpeth Franklin Downtown in exchange for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sometimes you just have to get away. Get out of your house and have a romantic evening away from everything going on at home. A few weeks ago my husband and I had a belated anniversary night out and headed to historic Franklin, TN. Franklin is a historic part of town that’s about half an hour outside of Nashville.
The newest hotel in Downtown Franklin is The Harpeth. The Harpeth is a Curio Collection by Hilton. We started our night away by touring our room. We had a king suite with a balcony, corner seating area, huge walk-in shower, and a great bathroom.

After settling in, we headed to the lobby bar and got a glass of wine. We took it back to our room and enjoyed it on the patio. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the afternoon sunshine and talked while we enjoyed our wine and the view.

If you’re looking for dinner, The Harpeth has a restaurant in the lobby called 1799. The website says, “1799 offers modern American cuisine with a seasonal menu that’s both innovative and approachable. We partner with local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen to showcase the region’s flavors. You’ll also find prestigious cuts of beef and game, Creole favorites, and twists on southern staples.” We didn’t get a chance to eat there but definitely have it on our list for next time!
We wanted a walk before dinner so we walked around Downtown Franklin. There are several great boutiques, shops, and restaurants. There’s also the Franklin Theatre that’s so cool when it’s lit up! We had dinner, picked up goodies and Kilwin’s, and then headed back to our room to relax. It’s not every day that we have the bed to ourselves with no dogs AND a TV so we stretched out, watched The Office, and had an amazing night’s sleep.
Some other fun things about The Harpeth is pet friendly, has an on-site fitness center, meeting rooms, a business center, and room service. Another restaurant on-site is McGavock’s Coffee Shop. We grabbed coffee and muffins to go and enjoyed them in bed while we read and caught up on emails.
Before checking out, take some time to explore the property! The lobby is full of plush couches, chairs, and lots of light. Off the lobby is the cozy library with lots of books and nooks for reading or chatting. The entire property is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait for another night away from home at the Harpeth.
