The holidays are a fun and exciting time for everyone. Dogs included! We adopted Gatsby in December of 2013 and it has been so much fun including her in all our holiday plans. Gatsby is our four-legged child and holidays are just more fun with her. She plays with wrapping paper, gets into bows and loves looking at the tree after it is all decorated. Gatsby also loves snuggling while we watch movies like The Grinch, Love Actually, or Holiday Inn.
She has also been in our holiday cards, dressed up in sweaters and antlers and she even has her own stocking.
When we first got her stocking, we put the treats and presents in there right away without thinking about it. Until we came home one day to find her nose in her stocking and most of her treats were gone! Now, we hide it until the day before and love seeing how excited she gets when she sees her stocking filled with her favorite treats!
Today I am teaming up with Walmart to share 5 things you should put in your pet’s stocking. I have a Walmart down the road, so it is easy to hop in the car and get anything and everything I need for the holidays.
If you let me loose in the dog aisle, I tend to go a little crazy shopping for my pup. Have you seen her? She is so adorable and melts my heart when she gives me those puppy dog eyes. So needless to say, she gets a lot of treats.
Her current favorite is Pup-Peroni Original Beef Flavor dog snacks. Real beef is the #1 ingredient in Pup-Peroni and with more real beef* and a mouth-watering aroma it is no wonder dogs simply cannot resist Pup-Peroni dog snacks. We always have a package that we take along with us so we can treat Gatsby.
Her second favorite treat would have to be Milk-Bone Flavor Snacks. Milk-Bone Flavor Snacks feature the same teeth cleaning and vitamin-enriched goodness of Milk-Bone Original biscuits in five delicious flavors that Gatsby loves. We always get compliments on how clean Gatsby’s teeth are and it is because of how many Milk-Bones she enjoys!
If I am going crazy and get her a third treat, it is Milo’s Kitchen Chicken Meatball. Milo’s Kitchen Chicken Meatballs are a mouth-watering, home-style recipe of savory meatballs made with real chicken. Your furry family member will drool over this wholesome treat that’s deliciously cooked to perfection for an authentic chicken taste.
After the treats, I usually put a sweater in Gatsby’s stocking. She has short hair and gets cold easily. The dachshund in her is always burrowing in covers and sheets to stay warm. She also loves wearing sweaters (duh, she must be stylish like her human mom).
Next up, a new collar. When people see Gatsby they always call her a boy. So, I find the pink and frilly collars so people know that she is the little lady she is.
Finally, a new toy. Walmart has so many great options for dog toys, all her favorites are from there! Usually it’s an animal like a fox or dinosaur.
If you don’t have a stocking for your pup, Walmart has that covered too! I just bought a simple red and white stocking and some glitter paint to draw her name on. Affordable and easy. Now all I have to do it assemble her stocking and put it away until later this month!
Do you do stockings for your pets? If so, what do you normally put in them? Share in a comment below!
