If you’re been following me for a while now, you know I’m a major hockey fan! I love our local team, the Nashville Predators, and pre-COVID I was one of the loudest fans at the games in Bridgestone Arena.
Well, now I’m the loudest Preds fan from my couch. While I miss going to games, I have to admit that it’s warmer from home and the food is much better! I’ve got 5 snack ideas to watch a hockey game at home that you’re going to want to try for yourself!
5 Snack Ideas to Watch a Hockey Game at Home
Bacon Cheddar Jalapenos
One of my latest recipe posts proves that anything can be made tasty and delicious with cheese and bacon. Make these yummy jalapenos over the grill or in the oven and enjoy over a hockey game.
French Onion Dip
Anything can go with french onion dip. Crackers, chips, bread, you name it. This is my mom’s famous party dip for holiday parties but it’s just as good enjoyed over an NHL game!
Homemade Pretzel Bites & Beer Cheese
One of my favorite things to eat during a hockey game is a pretzel. It’s so cold in the arena that you need something warm like a pretzel! My husband makes these amazing pretzel bites and homemade beer cheese and it’s all divine. You can find me munching on this during all three play periods!
Mama Crouch’s Chili Recipe
Chili is the perfect sports food. Add some crackers, cheese, french fries, it’s good with anything in it. Personally, I love crackers and shredded cheese in my chili! Plus it’s something warm to hold during the game. Just don’t jump and throw it everywhere when your team scores! Trust me, chili is hard to get out of a couch.
Easy to Make Sausage Balls
Another recipe that’s easy to make before a game and warm-up before are sausage balls. I make a batch and freeze what I won’t need. If it’s just me, I’ll take out about 10 for the game and if we’re having company over will leave the whole batch out. I love being able to make things in batches and save them for later when you need them.
French onion dip is always the first to be eaten up in our house! We love making vegan chili, can’t go wrong with that.
Oh my gosh, these all look so good! Lately, I have been crazy chili lol! Must be the cold weather haha!

I don’t do kitchen things, lol, but I do like to watch sports at times. I might watch the Superbowl this month. I wanted to take my guy to an in-person hockey game last March since he played in high school, but then everything shut down. Fun at home tips!
I don’t watch sports but I’m all about the snacks! Love the options! xoxo, Sarah
I’m not a huge fan of hockey, but I am here for all the snacks! That chip dip looks yummy!
You always share such awesome recipes! I definitely need to keep these in mind for sports events. We watch basketball more than anything else, and I just know my husband would love so many of these on game night!
Yummm! These all look so delicious! Thanks for sharing! Xo
French onion dip is a must have for watching any sport! As is chili!
Ummmm delishhhh!!! Those bacon jalapeño peppers look so yummy, I don’t have a game or anything we’re watching tonight but I still might just make them! Lol. Xx.
