This post is in collaboration with Art of Green®. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Summer brings a lot of happy things in addition to longer hours and warmer temps. But the summer can bring some serious messes. Y’all know how much I love my doggos, Gatsby & Fitzy, but during the summer they shed everywhere and are always tracking mud and dirt in the house since they’re spending more time outside. In addition to the dogs, summer has us outside more, so we need outdoor spaces to stay clean. A few crumbs or a sticky table can bring ants, bees and other bugs I don’t want to mess with! That’s why today I’m partnering with Art of Green® to share 5 essential cleaning tips.
5 Essential Summer Cleaning Tips with Art of Green
Keep Odors Away
Like anyone, I’m known for stuffing trash in my trashcan until the bag is about to burst, and it has a few times. During the summer, take your trash out often because the heat and humidity creates a nasty smell in your trash bin. Also make sure you clean out your trash bin every so often, wipe down the inside before the bad smell spreads through the house.
Let the Sun In
With the longer days, blinds stay open longer and let in the natural light. But this also causes dust to float around. If your blinds are going to stay open, make sure you dust more so you don’t have allergies.
Use Fresh Smells Like Essential Oils
I’m a huge fan of essential oils and love the fresh smell that doesn’t smell like perfume or chemicals. Lavender, Citrus and Lemongrass are three of my favorites.
Wipe Down All Door Handles and Surfaces Often
Sticky fingers are common during the summer thanks to popsicles and ice cream so I like have wipes on hand. My husband also loves grilling during the summer and is known to make messes while he preps food. I always go behind him and clean up as I go so we don’t get ants or cockroaches looking for a snack.
Prep Your Patio
No one likes sitting on the patio when everything is covered in bird poop and cobwebs. Take the time to wipe down patio furniture, wash cushion covers, wipe down handrails and get the spiders out of your flower pots. I also gently wipe down my string lights so they twinkle a little brighter.
For these tasks and to keep my home clean during the summer I use Art of Green products. I’ve written about Art of Green before on here but they’re a new line of eco-friendly products that clean and deliver uncompromising performance with everyday affordability. You can find their products on Amazon here.
Art of Green is tough on dirt, grease, grime and perfect for multi-surfaces like kitchen counters, patio tables, grills, or even for cleaning off porch fixtures like pots, string lights and more!
