One of my favorite places to dress up and shoot photos has to be the Fairlane Hotel. They have themed popups in their penthouse and they’re always so fun and creative. There’s the holiday pop-up, Studio 57 theme, spring florals, and more!
The current theme is The Alice, which is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. So in the spirit of all the fun, I thought I’d share 5 Alice in Wonderland inspired outfits if you find yourself going to a themed party. You won’t find a mad hatter costume or Cheshire cat costume here, but if you need Halloween costumes or just want to be a wonderland character we have all your costume ideas below.
5 Alice In Wonderland Inspired Outfits
Queen of Hearts
Would you believe me if I told you I made this dress? I didn’t sew it together but modeled it on a dress I saw on Emily in Paris. You can see how I did it here. But this dress would be perfect if you want to be the queen of hearts. Just add a crown and say “Off with their head!” all night long. The perfect hearts costume!

Black & White
The four looks can be found on Rent the Runway, starting with this Ralph Lauren striped gown. Before I shot in the space I saw the black and white stripes on the wall and thought this gown would be perfect. I’m wearing a size 6R and would love to rent this again for a formal occasion. This isn’t your typical wonderland costume but it’s fun to think outside of the box! You could also put some bunny ears on and have a rabbit costume. Shop this women dress below.

Hot Pink to Match the Flamingo’s
Play croquet with flamingos or spill some tea with the Mad Hatter in this sequin hot pink sheath by Dress the Population. I’m wearing a size small and think this dress is so fun, playful, and sexy with the high slit. Accessorize with colorful shoes and earrings to go with the mad theme.

Classic Fancy Black Gown
I’d gladly fall down the rabbit hole to wear this stunning Badgely Mishka ruffle high/low gown. Luckily this style came in tall so I’m wearing a 4L. It’s an elegant wonderland dress option if you want to dress up but keep it classic in black. Any excuse to dress up, am I right?!

Metallic Fun
Last but not least is this stunning halter gown by LoveShackFancy. It doesn’t go with the Alice in Wonderland theme but I wanted to wear it so bad. I would wear this gown cleaning if I owned it! It’s so beautiful and was surprisingly cool to style with my green cowboy boots and Lack of Color fedora. I’m wearing a size medium.
