4 Ways to Practice Self-Care at Home

With all the time I’ve been spending at home lately, I’ve had the chance to do things I wouldn’t normally have the time to do. I’ve painted two rooms, deep cleaned the house, organized my drawers and closet, and learned a few dances.

I’ve also had time to practice more self-care! Self-care is great because it not only helps with your mental and physical health, but it can make you feel more relaxed, boost your mood, and ease some anxiety you might be having. Plus, it’s nice looking and feeling your best! So today, I’m partnering with OGX® to share my head-to-toe self-care at-home routine.

Self Care at Home

Head

I’ve worked long and hard to get my hair as strong and healthy-looking as possible. That’s all thanks to good shampoo and conditioner! Every shower starts with OGX® Extra Strength Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil Shampoo. I leave it on for two to three minutes, to help detangle and smooth my hair. Once the shampoo is rinsed, the second step is following up with OGX® Extra Strength Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil Conditioner. Again, I make sure it’s scrubbed in and left in for a few minutes to condition.

Since we’re at home with nowhere to go, why not stay in the shower a few extra minutes and let your hair sit in a hair mask? This is my third step to good, hydrated hair and I use the OGX® Extra Strength Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil Hair Mask. I leave it in for 5-10 minutes, and sometimes put my hair in a shower cap to let it sit better. Once you’re done, your hair is so soft and silky! It’s like being at the hair salon!

Face

Almost every day while social distancing, I’ve done some sort of mask or under-eye patch. I’ve also been drinking a ton of water, so my skin has never looked better! It’s been good for me to go through my bags of products and try out new things to see if it helps my skin. I will say, washing my face every morning and evening has been a game-changer. Before this, I’d just wipe off my makeup with a wipe and call it a day!

Body

When you’re in the shower, exfoliate and moisturize your skin with something that smells heavenly! I love the OGX® Rose Water and Pink Sea Salt Scrub. It helps with dead skin, dirt, paint, anything I end up with during the day—the scrub takes it right off and helps me relax, leaving my skin rejuvenated.

Toes

I’ve been working hard on my manicure and pedicure skills. I do them right after I get out of the shower so my skin and cuticles are soft. I scrub dead skin off my feet, push back my cuticles, trim and file my nails, buff and apply polish.

    It’s fun having the same brand of products for all your skin/hair needs. Then you can mix and match favorite scents together and enjoy a relaxing, cleansing shower or bath! So fun!

    I’ve tried a few OGX products over the years, and absolutely loved them. I’m so glad people are spending more time with self care. Since we’ve all had a few extra months to ourselves, it’s a good time to do it!

    Its been awhile since I’ve used the OGX Coconut line– it always had the best scent! Definitely picking up the rose water scub, it sounds heavenly!
