As a Nashville local, one of my jobs is to let you know the cool places to go and hang out. One of those places is the 12 South neighborhood. It’s so close to downtown Nashville but is a spot in Music City where you’ll find lots of food, restaurants, shopping, happy hours, and more. If you travel into this area you’ll also find the ‘I Believe in Nashville’ mural, Sevier Park, and lots of quaint and beautiful neighborhoods and homes.
So before you get to 12th Avenue South Nashville, check out the places below and look at all of the restaurant menus. There are lots of things to do and you can spend all day walking around and exploring this fabulous spot.
I will warn you that it gets pretty crowded on weekends and in peak tourism season (summer and spring). You’ll find lots of bachelorette parties and tourists but don’t let it deter you from eating at local spots or shopping at some unique establishments. Plus the walk and fresh air will do you some good! I also recommend getting a coffee from Frothy Monkey and a doughnut from Five Daughters as some early fuel to your day in 12 South.

Yes! It’s an extremely walkable area. There are paid parking lots or parking on side/residential streets. There are also sidewalks and crosswalks up and down the street
That would be Broadway! That’s the home of all the nightlife, bars and honkey tonks.
