Only one more sleep and Halloween is over!
You heard me, I’m so excited for October 31 to come and go.
If you’ve noticed my blog and social media are feeds aren’t filled with pumpkins, costumes, and Halloween candy. No tutorials, no parties, nothing.
The truth is, I’m not a Halloween girl. Growing up I went trick or treating and dressed up, but as I got older I just wasn’t into it. I don’t like candy and sweets and the idea of dressing up as someone else just wasn’t appealing to me. I don’t like being scared so that rules out Haunted Houses and scary movies as well. My neighborhood also never has trick or treaters. Nothing personal Halloween, I’m just not that into you.
Over the years I’ve had a new Halloween tradition. Decorate for Christmas.
Why I Spend Halloween Night Decorating for Christmas in my Favorite Festive PJs:
Yeah, you read right. Today is a day for holiday decorating! Y’all I am a Christmas girl through and through. I come alive at the thought of peppermint hot chocolate, tinsel, twinkling lights, wrapping paper, and mistletoe. I have boxes upon boxes of decorations, festive sweaters, movies, and holiday fun. To me, Christmas is a holiday that can’t be celebrated in just one month, so I stretch it out over two. You still with me?
I do have some limits. I won’t decorate my car with antlers and red nose until after Thanksgiving. Also, we don’t buy our tree until after the turkey has been digested. But other than that, all bets are off!
I even started a little earlier this year. At our staycation at Holston House last weekend, I pulled out some holiday gear and festive pjs for a cozy morning in bed. I got this ‘Ho ho ho’ hat a few weeks ago from Forever 21 and it’s only $6!
